storage mode is disabled in custom semantic model created on lakehouse. What are the various ways to change the storage mode from direct lake mode to other modes.

You can use the SQL end point of the SSMS connection workspace to modify the storage mode of the current semantic model, which requires the permission of your capacity administrator:

Currently a limitation. We can't mix direct lake with other storage modes (Import, DirectQuery, or Dua):
