"Something Went Wrong" error when connecting dataset to Gateway

I am trying to connect a new dataset to a gateway. Its a SharePoint site for which I have only read only access. (could this be the problem)

I am authenticating using my ownSharePoint Credentials. When I click on the Users tab, the error message below appears

I also just realized that I am able to add source which are based on SharePoint online (cloud version).

But when I try to add Data sources from SharePoint 2013, it fails when I click on the edit credentials button

Hi @vincetaylor ,

Because Sharepoint2013 is in a local environment, try the Microsoft Account option for authentication.

If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information or the expected result you expect. Let me know immediately, looking forward to your reply.

@vincetaylor

Having read only access to the source should be enough to set up the data source on gateway.

I see your source is SharePoint and looking at the details you have filled in, I assume it's cloud. In this scenario you do not need a gateway. So, you can directly edit the credentials and set up the refresh in dataset settings.

Hi @_sfrost
When I go to Dataset--> Settings,

The Dataset Credentials option is greyed out
The scheduled refresh option is also greyed out

I have added an image above

Hi @vincetaylor

SharePoint is in cloud therefore no need for a Gateway and the refresh is hourly...you just need to know how get data from SharePoint then build your reports on top of it.
