"Q&A setup" on "Modeling tab" is greyed out when connecting to "Live connection" on Power BI

Hi Team,

Greetings!
I had a requirement to enable the features of "Q&A setup" option on "Modeling tab" to use of the additional functionalities like 'Synonyms/ Teach Q&A' and so on.

I could see, that "Q&A setup" is enabled while connecting on "Direct Query", but it is greyed out while using "live connection" under 'Modeling tab'.

The requirement is that, they want to use that 'Q&A setup' features on 'Modeling tab' for 'live connection', but it is greyed out.
Is there a way to achieve it?

I see, there is an option by enabling 'Make changes to this model'(which will change connection live to Direct Query as a local mode). So, the 'Q&A setup' is enabled on 'Modeling tab'. But the connection is changes from live.

Is ther any possibilities that it can be achieved or any workaround way to do it on 'live connection' on Modeling tab of 'Q&A setup'.

Additionally, I enabled all requested settings on Desktop and Dataset on Services. Attached snapshots for your reference.

Hi - I'm having the same issues, greyed out Q&A setup and I cannot add dynanmic values into text boxes where previously I could... has anyone found a solution to this?

You need to turn on this feature under the dataset you are connecting to.

Yes, I already enable this option at dataset level and attached in the earlier snapshot.

Once again, I am attaching here for reference.

I would appreciate, if anyone have faced similar concern or is there the know limitations or is there any workaround possible. Please suggest, it would be a great help.

I think we are hitting this limitation. I tried this and had the same result. I think we can only use the feature by (double clicking on the report canvas) but we can't do any changes.

Even I tried exploring various options, but I couldn't find either. As you said, it would be a limitations.

I still keep this thread open for sometime and wait for some suggestions.
