Hi all,
I am confused on why Power BI app tiles show the date from when the app was last published ("updated") instead of the date when the data was last refreshed? From our app audience's point of view, they do not care when the app was published, but they DO care when the data is refreshed. This has a negative impact on usage becuase users see an old "static" publish date and think that the data has not been refreshed and so don't use the app.
This issue also affects mobile notifications. We have set up scheduled refreshes on our datasets (blue outline), which then refreshes the data in the apps over night. But we still have to manually go in and re-publish ("update") the app in the morning (red outline) otherwise there would be no activity notification. This manual process is essentially our workaround to update the date on the app tile (which is why it shows Apr 29 in the pic), but the point here is that we want to avoid the manual process.
Is there any way to eliminate the manual process and show the correct refresh date?
Can the app be automatically updated?
Any ideas are appreciated.
Thanks @Greg_Deckler , but I am refering to the date shown on the App Icon Tile (see screen shot above) which is system generated.
The link you sent only discusses dashboard tiles and report visualization/measures showing last report update.
