"Analyze in Excel" not working

I created and uploaded a dashboard to PowerBI. Now I would like to see the data in Excel. Howerver, when I click on "Analyze in Excel" an Excel message pops up with the following error message: "The connection failed because user credentials are needed and Sign-In UI is not allowed".

I've been searching on the Internet as well as diving into Excel's Trusted Center settings but nothing came up about allowing Sign-In UI.

Any workaround for this?

Thanks,

Victor.

I have experienced that the analyze in excel function is not updating the latest data aftre middle of August. Has anyone else had the same problem? I downloaded the latest Analyze in Excel installation package to my computer now and our IT installed it. Still it did not change the situation. I am able to only get the data until middle of August to excel pivot. I have published the dataset and the online data is refreshing with late August figures + September data.

Any ideas how to troubleshoot this?

It didn't work on an Excel file that was shared to me.

On other computers, it would take me to an Azure Sign-in page where I entered the credential and the page would refresh. But it just didn't work on this desktop I recently got from work. I have downloaded the latest "Analyze in Excel". It worked on the reports that I created without needing to sign-in. However, it didn't work on this Excel file. I went into PowerBI Service and downloaded the odc directly. It still didn't work. The pop-up message were showing "The connection failed because user credentials are needed and Sign-In UI is not allowed."

I wonder is there a "switch" I can turn on to allow the "Sign-In UI" just as my other computers have allowed.

Thanks, Jack
