Hi,
I have published a report in to power BI service and then embedded the report into a website. But when a user is accessing the website, inorder to sign in to view the report i have to grant permission to them. I am getting requests for approving the permission. Earlier, any user with power bi pro licence was able to sign in and view the report. From yesterday, it is sending permission request to me for approving the user. Could you please help me on this?

Hi @aswathiii ,
Yes you can give permission to users outside your organization, make sure you enable external data sharing in Fabric admin portal

Hi @aswathiii ,
Please ensure the external user has Power BI Pro or Premium Per User (PPU) license Or, the content needs to be in a workspace that's in a Power BI Premium (EM or P SKU) or a Fabric (F SKU) capacity.
Then they will be able to view the report embedded in a secure website.
Thanks and Regards
@v-nmadadi-msft If i add external user in microsoft entra id and grant them access to my power bi report published in my workspace. Then is that enough for the external user to view the report embedded in a secure website?

Hi @aswathiii ,
Test the Embedding Configuration
Review your embedding code:
Verify if you're using App-Owns-Data or User-Owns-Data embedding.
For App-Owns-Data, users do not need individual access since the app authenticates on their behalf.
For User-Owns-Data, each user must have permission to view the report, which matches the issue you're experiencing.

Hi, I have used the option "Embed a report in a secure portal or website" . I am not manintaining microsoft entra id. Using " Embed a report in a secure portal or website" in power bi service i have got the link and i have pasted that to my website. Till last week , when someone access the website, it only asked to sign in with their power bi pro license. But from yesterday, even the users inside my organization require my permission to access it. Is this any new update in power bi?
Hi @aswathiii ,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
Even the users inside your organization require your permission to access it because while using "Embed a report in a secure portal or website" users who have permission to view the report only will be able to acces it.
You can give permissions to users from manage permissions setting in Fabric portal, If you use a Microsoft 365 Group, you can list the user as a workspace member and grant access to multiple members.
