our contractor made us a deployment pipeline for movement of a report from a dev ws to a test ws to a prod ws. at https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Service/good-path-for-s4-hana-fabric-data-extraction/td-p/... the contributors are helping me to decide on a path of s4 data movement and if im reading them right, a pipeline is one of ythe choices i have. is that kind of pipeline essentially set up etc the same as our deployment pipeline or is it just a coincidence that pipeline is used in both terms?
Hi @db042190
It can be confusing because you get pipelines and fabric and you get deployment pipelines which then move your data between dev, test and prod. Ideally you want to have a dev destined pod set up so that you can test things before they go to production and any bugs have been found before you release it in it is a good way to work through making sure everything works.
thx gilbert is it fair to say they are 2 different things then?
Hi @db042190,
Yes, Deployment Pipelines and Pipelines (previously called Data Pipelines) are different items in Fabric.
