issues with date format in Power BI service for only one user in MS Edge

hello,

one of our users is having a strange issue with Date formats in MS Edge.

i have tried to clear cache in Edge, change language in Power BI server and in MS Edge (english vs french) but still getting the same issues.

below are the screenshots of the same report:

the first screenshot is MS Edge of the user, the Dates in the Report and refresh Date in the service are all in different formats.

the second screenshot is how it has to be and how it is for all other users.

could you please let me know what setting i can check to fix it.

thank you,
Andriy

1. Browser Settings

  • Regional Settings in Edge: Check if there are any regional settings or date format preferences in Microsoft Edge that might affect how dates are displayed. Sometimes, browser settings can influence how content is rendered.

    • Go to Settings in Edge.
    • Search for Language or Regional settings and verify that the settings align with the expected format.
    • Check the Content Settings under Privacy, search, and services for any custom configurations.

2. Power BI Service Settings

  • Service Locale Settings: Ensure that the locale settings in Power BI Service are consistent across all users.

    • Go to Power BI Service and click on the gear icon (Settings).
    • Check Regional Settings under Settings to make sure they are set to the appropriate locale.
  • Dataset Locale Settings: Verify that the dataset settings in Power BI Desktop match the locale settings you expect.

    • Open Power BI Desktop.
    • Go to File > Options and settings > Options.
    • Under Regional Settings, check the settings for Data Load and Regional Format.

3. Power BI Report Settings

  • Format Settings in Power BI: Ensure that the date formats in your Power BI reports are explicitly defined.

    • Open the report in Power BI Desktop.
    • Go to the date fields and set the format explicitly to ensure consistency.

4. Edge Extensions and Add-ons

  • Extensions and Add-ons: Sometimes browser extensions or add-ons can interfere with how content is displayed.

    • Temporarily disable any extensions or add-ons in Microsoft Edge and check if the issue persists.

5. Power BI Desktop Update

  • Update Power BI Desktop: Ensure that the Power BI Desktop application is updated to the latest version. Sometimes, issues in older versions are resolved in updates.

6. Clear Local Browser Data

  • Additional Clearing: In addition to clearing cache, clear other local browser data such as cookies and site data.

    • Go to Settings in Edge.
    • Search for Privacy, search, and services.
    • Under Clear browsing data, choose Cookies and other site data, and Cached images and files.

hi @Shravan133 ,
thanks for your reply!

all other users don't have this issue, so i don't think it is a Report.

i have already tried to clear cache in Edge, change language in Power BI server and in MS Edge (english vs french) but still getting the same issues.
i can't find any reginal settings in Edge other than those that go with a Preffered languages selection example France(Canada) and i tried to change it to a couple of other options, but was getting the same results.

For now i've instructed the user to use Chrome and it is working fine.

i will try to go through your list again and will post the update if it helps to fix the issue.

thanks again,

Andriy
