how to confirm credential postgresql DB connection?

Hi.

I made connection postgresql DB on power bi desktop, and i can see the table(DB data)

but when i upload the pbix file to power bi service,

'An error happened while reading data from the provider: 'No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it'

i can't understand why it couldn't be connected.. it was possible to connect through power bi desktop to postgresql DB!

i wonder how to connect and what is the solution 😞 ...?
(DB ID, PASSWORD is correct !! :(.. )

Hi @ryankang

You would need to have a gateway to connect to the PostgreSQL database

You could follow these steps which are similar to get it connected to the database: Tutorial: Connect to on-premises data in SQL Server - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

Hi @ryankang ,

Have you solved your question?

The reason why installing gateway is that may be your data source is on-premise, if it is from local, the gateway will be necessary.

If you still in trouble, can you give me a screenshot about your error message? Thank you in advance~
