Hello!
I am able to connect to a SQL Server DB and create a report from Power BI desktop. But after I publish the report to service and trying to schedule refresh, I am getting authentication (credentials) error.
It says "connection was denied since Deny Public Network Access is set to Yes. .......To connect to this server, use the private Endpoint from inside your virtual network".
The DB that I am connecting is Azure PAAS DB. Also, the DB team says might be the Power BI is residing in different region than the Server where the DB resides.
So, do I need to install any gateway to connect and refresh the data?

That error is because your Azure SQL DB is not allowed to connect to any Azure services.
Here is the setting below to allow the connection which will allow it to connect to Power BI in any region
