connect to excel file in share point folder as a dataflow

Hello Everyone,

I am new to power bi.

I have one excel file saved in sharepoint folder. I update the data in that file everyday in sharepoint.

My Question: Is there any posibility I can use that file as dataflow in  power bi service by using sharepoint as source. so that when I update data in Sharepoint , it will update automatically in power bi service  with the refresh.

If possible, please let me know the steps to create dataflow and use sharepoint path as a source to this dataflow.

Thankyou.

Hi again,

So first create your Dataflow (when you are in PBI premium workspace, click on New->Dataflow->Add New Tables ->Search for Sharepoint Folder).

Once you have your Dataflow open, follow this video:
Video is in PBI Desktop, but the same logic and steps are basically identical for the Dataflow.

Once you create connection to the datasource and you save it, go to the settings of Dataflow and set up credentials.
Refresh the dataflow and your data will be ready to use.

In case you want to see how to generally create Dataflow, check the link:

Hi @Anotny ,

This solution is possible, but you need to use Power Automate.
First of all, go to https://make.powerautomate.com/ and go to create new.
You need to set up the flow for your file on SP , that whenever there is a change - it will triggeer Dataflow refresh.

Simple sample would look like this:
