hi we recently migrated a pbi connection to a different server. Under the watchful eye of my peer, I downloaded the dataset from the service and was pleasantly surprised to see the report and model could be opened on my desktop together as opposed to what you see if you just download the report. My peer then explained how via the transform button i could point the ds to the new connection. I did that, refreshed to make sure the change will work down onm the desktop, published and was happy to see the report working. The connection is relational sql based.
But we noticed today that the report was a day behind. I'm not sure if my peer scheduled the ds for refresh but i refreshed manually and noticed that little warning that might even indicate my manual one didnt work. Either way, the report is still a day old. And the "data source credentials" drop down is grayed out on the ds settings screen where it shows the ds having been configured by me and in a workspace where i supposedly have admin. I do not have the broader admin permission across the service, just on some selected items here and there in the service.

my mentor realized that he didnt plumb the new dataset to the gateway. He did that today and i think we are in business. i think that creds drop down was gray for him too so maybe it doesnt really apply.
