can't save report created from a semantic model in PBI Service when using PC

I can create a PBI report from a semantic model using my pc BUT I can't edit it (add data...)  

On my laptop I cannot create a PBI report because I can't save it to be a report.  BUT I can edit and save the PBI report on my laptop that I created on my PC.  

Any ideas of what's wrong?

Suggestions from users are accurate, in addition to their points. please check Tenant mismatch, maybe you might be signed into a different org on your laptop, so it doesn't have the same permissions as your PC & If the desktop version is outdated or mismatched, it might not fully support the semantic model.

Hi @Sharon11 

If I understand it correctly, you are able to edit the report in the Power BI workspace. If that's the case kindly check the following:

1. Click on your profile icon and verify you are having a Pro license.
2. Check with Workspace Member/Admin that you are having a workspace role of Contributor or above.
3. Check with the Semantic model owner that you are having build permission.
4. While editing it online make sure you are in the edit mode.

Hope this helps you try to check this and let me know if this is not the right problem you are facing.

@FBergamaschi  I'm staying within PBI Service rather than using PBI Desktop.  I've doe it before.  Not sure why it doesn't work now

I am a bit confused but I might have got something

When you connect to an existing semantic model (live connection) you cannot add any other source. If you want to do it, you need to connect in DQ Analysis Services and so create a Composite Model, you can do this from PBI desktop

That said, can you please show images of your issues? You speak about a PC and a laptop, are they the same machine? what do you mean "I can't save it to be a report?"
