can i certify a semantic model that isnt in a fabric ws

hi, my peer wants one of his semantic models certified.   I recently got a fabric instance.   Started experimenting with fabric in a ws i designated a fabric ws.   His semantic model is in a completely different ws.   If i certify his semantic model, must i first designate his ws as fabric and more importantly, will we then be charged every time somebody uses that semantic model?  what other options would he have?  premium?   we all have pro right now.

Hi. Certify a semantic model is a feature that works with any license and it won't increase your bill. You can think it as a tag that shows users that the semantic model is the real deal. The certify could happen in a shared capacity worksapce (the one that doesn't have a diamond and works with pro licenses) or even in a dedicated capacity (the one with diamond in a fabric capacity).

Just consider that when the workspace is pro or fabric <F64, then users need pro to view or use the semantic model.

I hope that helps,
