What happens if I overwrite an existing report someone else published?

I am to make some query updates to an existing report a colleague created who is now no longer in the same department:

  • Workspace is a premium workspace
  • I have Member access to the workspace
  • Report is refreshed on schedule via API
  • The Report owner displayed on the service is the name of the workspace

If I were to overwrite the report:

  • Does that automatically transfer ownership to my user profile? And does that make me take over the settings?
  • If I take over the dataset settings, does that disable the API refresh and will I have to set new refresh schedule rules?

1. Yes, you will own the report and you will take over the settings.

2. No, API refresh uses workspace ID and dataset ID. As long as they dont change, it will continue working.
