I am trying to create a new connection:
I am unsure which ConnectionType to choose...
The data is on a teams folder, I am using the COPY LINK button:
I input the URL:
And I used many connectos, none of them worked... for example SharePoint returns:
If I want to connect to a source like https://resources.xyz.com/:x:/r/sites/xyz/Shared%20Documents/General/sadfs.xlsx?d=wd2fff0cba333245cc... what Connection Type do I have to use?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hey there!
The reason it is not working is because of your Teams Link, it won't work directly in PowerBI. Instead do this:
- Open Microsoft Teams.
- Go to the channel where your file is stored.
- Click on "Open in SharePoint" (usually found in the three-dot menu next to the file).
- Copy the SharePoint URL from the browser (it should look like: https://resources.xyz.com/sites/xyz/).
- Use this base SharePoint URL in Power BI.
After you have copied it, use Power BIs Sharepoint connector:
- Open Power BI Desktop.
- Click on Get Data → SharePoint Folder.
- Paste the correct SharePoint site URL.
- Click OK and sign in using your Microsoft credentials.
- Navigate to your Teams file inside Shared Documents.
I hope this works for you!
