Using themes for Dashboards from ThemesGallery not working after upload

Hello

I have tried to use a couple of themes from ThemesGallery but they are still not working.

If I upload the json like the new one Sales to the PowerBI Service my dashboard it is not showing any style/color.

If I use the downloaded theme in VSCode the first time it is recognizing a json file.

If upload the file to the dashboard as custom theme and upload it again, the file looks different and if I load the file to VSCode it will recognized as java-Script file.

So it looks like the upload is working, but the theme not.

My steps again:

(1) Download from ThemesGallery to Laptop.

(2) Go to the dashboard in PowerBI Service

(3) Upload the theme as custom theme and... nothing is happen 😪

Any idea from outside my PowerBI world 😉

Hey Michael,
not sure if I catched it right...
You have applied a theme to your reports in Desktop, right? It worked in Desktop?

After publish to Service this imported theme should be applied to your reports (it is embedded, let's say). So you don't have to upload a theme json separately to Service.
To apply a theme in Desktop select one of the options which works for you:

No I tried to use the Dashboard theme only, see location on screenshot.

There you can upload a theme file or download an existing one to see how the code works.

The only possibility for me was to cusomize some colors from a downloaded default one.
