Using Service now REST API Explorer with SSO

There are many helpful guides to connect POwer BI to Servive now with the Service Now REST API explorer.

However, they all use basic auth to a local Service Now account with username and password.

My organsation requires at least oauth level authority, and that complicates things massively.

For the life of me i cannot find any guides that talk you through using a token or other secure method to connect.

The only site I saw with a guide seems offline now!

Any help appreciated, as surely this is a fairly common requirement!

Hi @richardc1 ,

According to my research. if ServiceNow is authenticated via Microsoft SSO, you can use local accounts created at ServiceNow.

For original post, you may refer to Connect to ServiceNow (SSO) - Power Platform Community (microsoft.com)

Best regards.

Thanks for your reply, however I cannot use a local account created in Service Now, it must be an AD Service Account.
