Users Manage Subscriptions - Requesting Access Again?

Hello Fellow PBI Enthusiasts,

Today a user received an email that their subscription to a report would end and was advised to go in and update their subscription if they wanted to continue receiving the report.

The email received has a button that says 'Manage Subscriptions', however when the user clicked on it and I received notification to grant access (obviously the user already has access).

I'm confused. Why grant access again?
By granting access, have I allowed the user access to something else?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @DizHamilton ,

Whether you allow users to access other content depends on the permissions you want to grant them. If the user's access level has been changed, or if there have been any modifications to the underlying data source or dataset used by the report, it may be necessary to regrant access.

For more details, you can read below document:

HI @Anonymous ,

Thanks for the reply.

In theory I do get what you are suggesting but In my situation there is only ONE data set for the app and its reports. If the user had issues with the data source changing they would have experienced loss of access to the full app and not just the one report. As I understand it, the user has been using the app with no issues. This is what leaves me baffled.

I'll have to wait a bit to see if this happens with other users.
