User getting error when creating subscriptions.

We have a user that is an admin of a modern workspace and has a PowerBI Pro license.
This user has a number of email subscriptions setup for a few reports to send out to other users.
When creating or modifying subscriptions he gets an error message shortly after.

There was an error with your subscription "*snip*" and it could not be delivered
You are receiving this email because there was an error with a subscription to Power BI Dashboard "*snip*" created by you.

The error while creating the subscription was:
AdalGrantHasExpiredDueToPasswordChangeErrorCode
*snip* will not successfully complete as you’ll need to re-authenticate to enable all your scheduled subscriptions. To do this, logout of the Power BI service through the web browser, and then log back in to the Power BI service. This will enable your subscription(s) to run again successfully.

The user has tried logging out of the browser and logging back in.
Checked AD account and the password has not expired or due to be expired soon. Account is active and not locked.
Was wondering if someone could explain that error message a little better as not much comes up with a google search.

Cheers in advance.

The user was removed and re-added to the workspace.
The user also deleted all existing report subscriptions and recreated them.
No issues thus far.

Not exactly sure which step resovled the problem but it might help someone else.
The error 'AdalGrantHasExpiredDueToPasswordChangeErrorCode' requires some translation from the experts. Not much comes up in a search. If anyone can explain that error message better it would be appreciated.

I have a work around, If report are refreshing correctly and all the credentials have no errors in the data set. you can turn off the subscription and save, then turn on the subscription and save and this will fix the error.

I've tried in a different way for this problem.

just turn OFF the radio button after RUN NOW. save and close.

after ON the button and save and close.

now you run manually, instead of schedule for test.

this works for me.

hope this will work most of us.

I noticed this because, if in case, you use "logout every ware" in OKTA or MFA apps. this problem happened.

after you login again in OKTA and MFA also, you have to sign-out in the browser and OFF and ON all the Subscriptions.

this worked for me.

Check the credentials in the data set, and then turn off subrcription and save, and then turn On the subscription again and this will fix the error.

You may try removing that user from Power BI RS and adding him back again. The error should have resolved with login back but looks like the RS DB isn't accepting!

Thanks for the reply.
This is a PowerBI service premium workspace. Not on-prem PowerBI RS if that was what you are referring to.
Seems like it's worth a try anyway. Remove and re-add the user for access to the workspace.
