I am investigating the ability for users to be able to group data from a dataset by filtering, and be able to generate reports based on these groups.
The idea would be for a user to filter down the current dataset down to the items they would like to group, and with some kind of trigger be able to identify those selected items as part of "Group 1". Then, the user could repeat this operation for many different groups like "Group X". Once they have completed their grouping we could show a graph which identifies each line based on the group number by color.
As an example: If I have a list of items sold at a store, and I am allowing the user to filter down to each individual item or a group of items. When the user decides he has filtered down to what he wants to be a part of a group PowerBi could then identify such selection as "Group X". Once the user has completed this step, the graph could show price over time for each item and identify the lines with a different color based on their group.

Hi @OriolCanellas ,
Like @lbendlin said, you can only do it in Power BI Desktop.
Please follow these steps:
1. First, here is the raw data I created.
2. Create a calculated column to group products based on their names and identify them as different categories.
3. Drag the fields you need to the report page for display and set conditional formatting.
The final page effect is as shown below.
4. The chart can show the price of each item over time and identify lines with different colors based on their group.
5. Now, you can select different groups to display in the "Filter" pane on the right.
Because there are multiple visual objects, Category needs to be added to the "this page" level Filter.
If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me.

You can do all this, but only on Power BI Desktop at the moment.
