Usage Metrics "This usage report will be retired in 2024."

Hi All,

Is anyone else receiving this message when they look at the Usage Metrics report? Started popping up earlier this week (1st July 2024)?

Are we expected to build an RLS enabled report from the Admin Workspace...? 😅

Hi @_MMahmood_ ,

Based on the description, I can view the usage metrics report successfully.

It is only in reference to the Admin portal usage. The power bi admin portal usage metrics dashboard will be removed.

The admin monitoring workspace provides the report.

Completely agree with MMahmood, the message is very unclear. It specifically states "THIS usage report will be retired..." - and if that happens, you need to be an admin to see usage of reports? Hopefully this is just a mistake?

This seems to suggest that only an admin could now provide the Usage Metrics Report that normal powerbi user can get today.  So more like a feature removed.

@v-jiewu-msft It wasn't so clear. The usage metrics reports on Workspace level will remain?

The message is confusing - we receive this pop up for all Usage Metrics reports, including the new ones. We received multiple questions from users.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to workspace and click on ... on any report, then select View Usage Metrics.
  2. Usage Metrics shows up with a pop up message below
  3. usage_report_retired.jpg

Hi @pbianalytics ,

Based on the testing again, select any of the reports and view usage metrics report, no pop up message.

This is reference to the Admin portal usage.

It would be great if an Admin could confirm this is only in reference to the Admin report: Power BI Admin portal Usage metrics dashboard retirement | Microsoft Fabric Blog | Microsoft Fabric
