Uploading data to Google drive

I have a ,Pbix file where data are excel sheets located on my laptop, i'd like to publish on the service & using the mobile to refresh the model while my laptop is closed. i went through the below steps but it doesn't work. where's the issue please?

1 - I have copied the Excel sheets in the Google Drive (Copy not backing up or synching them, to ensure that the files are located on the Google Drive)

2 - From the desktop (transform), I have changed the source of the files & selected the drive files instead of the local files.

3 - I published the file on the service.

4 - in the data gateway & cloud connection, when i started to select each file, it gives me the authentication as windows, i think it means it still linked to the local file on my lap top.

How could i make the service file independent on the local files & read directly from the Google drive files?

Regards

I make the below changes.

1 - I have copied the excel sheet drive link & editing its end after the name with "export?format=xlsx"

2 - One of the sheet succeeded & the other i had got the below message

What's the issue?

Hi @Mahegazy ,

It looks something is wrong with your pbix file. Try to refresh your report on desktop app and republish again. As @collinq mentioned you need a On-premises gateway personal mode on your computer if you are seeing c:// in your table m-query(open advanced editor in transform data and check your queries one by one).

Thanks,

Sai Teja

HI @Mahegazy ,

On step 4, in the data source/gateway are you using the FQDN or are you using the link to your hard drive (if it has a "C://" or something like that then you are using the local file).

So, the fix is to add these to your gateway as data sources to the correct linked location.
