Hi,
Is it possible in the Power BI service with the Git integration to do the following?
Having one centralized semantic model uploaded to the service from Power BI Desktop. Later you simply copy this Desktop file, apply a filter (in power query on the data, not in visuals/report) and also publish this to the service.
Eventually you update the centralized semantic model, with a measure for example. Is it possible to push this change to the other copied and published semantic model as well? The model is the same ofcourse, except for the filter.
In summary:
1. You have 1 centralized model that is the only one that get's updated/changed.
2. Reflect those changes in copies of the centralized semantic model when updates are made with Git (instead of copying agian and publishing over the previous set)
Would love to know, thanks!
Hi @SuperFiets_ ,
You can use the dataflow incase if you want to avoid data duplication. Can you provide more details?
Thanks,
Sai Teja
Thank you, but a dataflow won't contain any measures or the relationship model right? Or is it possible to pull this from the centralized semantic model as well?
What are the synergies/savings/efficiency gains you are expecting to get out of this?
I think you responded to one of my other post about filtering the semantic model aswell.
The idea is to have one centralized semantic model that when changed, can be updated for other semantic model as well..
