Unable to update data source via Web API

Hello dear community,

I created a data source for a REST API via Power BI Desktop. Authentication takes place via an X API key.

The connection works without any problems in Power BI Desktop, but when I publish the project and want to access and update it in the Power BI online portal, I get the following error message:

I think the problem is the missing X API KEY in the header, which doesn't seem to be available in the online version.

Is there a solution?

Thank you!

Many thanks for the quick response!

In the meantime I was able to solve the problem myself.

I had to confirm the authentication again without checking the Test box.
After that it worked.

Hi @SDovermann

You still have to connect it in the data source settings. You will change the authentication to Anonymous.

I do assume that the authentication is stored in the headers?
