Unable to create connection to data source

Hi,

I'm trying to connect the data source with custom connector and on-premises data gateway. Here is the background:

I have created a custom connector which is used to send API requests and retrieve data from server. It passes some criteria such as table name, start year, end year, start month and end month. It also uses user name and password for user authentication.

I installed on-premises data gateway (standard) and published a report from Power BI desktop. Now, I'm trying to setup schedule refresh for the report.

I'm trying to add a new connection and select the connection type for my custom connector. I enter the criteria for retrieve data like table name and authentication details which are username and password. However, the following error message promots when I try to create a new connection:

Here are the questions:

1. I'm using an admin account which is also the only account to do all the things and I'm using the only credential for authentication, so I'm sure I have permission to access the data source and the credentials must be correct. Why do I still see the error and what should I do?

2. I also tried to skip test connection, but I found that the data source path only contains string criteria (e.g. table name) but not number (e.g. start year, end month). Could it possibly be related?

I'm so confusing, so any suggestions or heads-up would be appreciated, thanks!
