I have 2 admin accounts. i had premium trial on first account and now i have that free trial only on second with all admin acceses.
the report owner is second admin account.
but when people request access i only get on first account the notification, where i dont have the premium features access. so what i can do to get notifications on second account?

Hi @Lemiodas

Access request notifications are not tied to which account has Premium but to who is set as the owner or workspace contact.

So, your first account is configured as the owner or listed in the workspace contact settings which is why it receives the requests. For fixing this, update the workspace contact list to your second account and ensure the second account is the report or dataset owner or workspace admin and remove first account if not needed

i have them both in contacts. but only malkhaz tsagareli user gets notification, not admin bi. I dont know why. i  should be owner as adminbi no?

@Lemiodas Malkhaz Tsagareli is still the actual owner, so only that account gets notification. Adding Admin BI to contacts might not be enough. Transfer ownership (republish or take over the dataset) to Admin BI to receive alerts.

i have taken it over. i republished, but i still dont get any notifications about report. also i removed old account from contacts and i dont receive notifications there also.
so now i dont get any notifications at all about report

  • Okay, it means Power BI no longer has a valid notification target configured. Even though republished ownership routing can still be misaligned.
Navigate to workspace - settings - advanced. Set contact list = Admin BI. Ensure Admin BI is workspace admin. Then check Dataset - Manage permissions - request access settings.
Power BI sometimes doesnot auto update notification routing after takeover, so manually reassign contact and verify access request settings.

Hi @Lemiodas,

Thank you @krishnakanth240, for your insights,

You've set the correct owner and contact, so this issue isn't typical in Microsoft Power BI. Sometimes, access request notifications may still go to the original creator or publisher, even after you take over or republish in the same workspace. Try publishing the report in a new workspace with the Admin BI account as the only contact, which usually resets the notifications.
