Transforming Data with Power BI service online

I have a report that I made on desktop with transformed data.  I published it to the online service for others to view in a workspace.  I need to transform some data that's new.  (Names that are entered in as 'first_last' need to be replaced as 'First Last')  I tried to follow some other tutorials about data flows but I couldn't get it to work.  I need a really clear and step by step solution.  Also, when I brought the report back to desktop I couldn't get it to transform data there either after downloading it. I just want to make a few changes like this that are ongoing changes as people's names get added to the report.  Need help, thanks!

Hi,

Do you mean that you downloaded the report? and which option did you choose while downloading?

If you have the latest version on your local machine that were used to published to the workspace, use that to make modification and then publish again which will overwrites the existing report/semantic model in the workspace.

Hi @Parks_Girl

First of all, we can't change the report name on the Service side, the names of the rows and columns can be changed, if you want to change the report name, you can only modify it before uploading.

As for your second question, as Kaviraj11 says, when re-downloading, you need to determine how you want to download it.

Selecting the first option to download will open the .pbix file, and the name can be changed in Power Query in Desktop.

When you're ready, just upload it again.
