Hello,
I have a report with the tooltip on a line chart, but it's not working on future dates just on the Power BI Service and App. However, this works normally on my personal Power BI desktop file. I've tried updating my Power BI to the latest versions as well as resetting all of my filters, but no luck.
Cursor is unable to hover over the future months in my workspace.
I appreciate any insight!
Thanks.
I also have this issue. Tooltip works fine in PowerBI Desktop but not on Service.
Morevoer, on some of my reports it stopped working this month (I didn't change anything, reports were already published on Service and one day tooltip disappeared)
Please help to resolve this issue, it's very annoying for stakeholders
If you change the order of y-axis measures and have the measure which will have a value for future dates at the top, then tooltip appears. So in my case if Budget is moved to the top, then tooltip appears for future dates.
But it will be a lot of work to change the order on all charts in all reports!
I tried it and when I changed the order it started to work for future dates but stopped for historical...
Do you have any ideas how to fix it?
I also have the same issue. I have a chart with revenue for current & previous years, and budget. Up until the current month, tooltips appear but cannot hover over future dates to see budget.
Its working fine in PowerBI Desktop. But not when published to the workspace, tried in both Edge and Chrome.
Desktop verion: Version: 2.119.701.0 64-bit (July 2023)
Edge version : Version 114.0.1823.82
Chrome version: Version 114.0.5735.199
Cannot confirm. Works for me on the service.

Looks like this works fine if you make the month a Continuous variable instead of a Categorical variable. Is there any way to make this work using the month field as a text data type?
I got the same issue with power BI service. It started happening from last month.
Yes, below is a sample pbix and dataset (Excel for this example) that mirrors what my screenshot report is doing. It appears to only be an issue when I drop a 'Type' variable into Legend and the top item in the Type list does not have data for future dates. In this example, I have no data for 'New Leases' for future dates, but I do for 'Renewals' and 'Pending Applications'. Again, it works fine on the pbix file itself, but when I publish this report to my workspace, the tooltip does not show up for August and September months.
Report: Sample Report.pbix
Dataset: Sample data.xlsx

It doesn't look like I'm unable to change the access on my end. Below is the data copied and pasted from the Excel if that's helpful. I just imported this data into a Power BI report and charted it on a line chart.
| Month | Type | Count |
| 2023-01 | New Lease | 25 |
| 2023-02 | New Lease | 30 |
| 2023-03 | New Lease | 34 |
| 2023-04 | New Lease | 23 |
| 2023-05 | New Lease | 45 |
| 2023-06 | New Lease | 54 |
| 2023-07 | New Lease | 23 |
| 2023-07 | Pending Apps | 10 |
| 2023-08 | Pending Apps | 23 |
| 2023-09 | Pending Apps | 5 |
| 2023-01 | Renewals | 20 |
| 2023-02 | Renewals | 25 |
| 2023-03 | Renewals | 29 |
| 2023-04 | Renewals | 18 |

Is this screenshot on the Power BI Desktop or in a published version on a workspace? It works fine for me on Desktop, but doesn't work when I view the report on my workspace.
Can you provide a sample PBIX that covers the scenario?
