Tooltip showing in desktop but not showing in service

Our organisation is using the line and stacked column chart visual, with tooltips on both the columns and the line. This is working perfectly in the desktop report. However, when the report is published to the service, the tooltip disappears from the line (but still shows on the columns).

This is a new issue, wonder if there is a bug within the latest update? Has anybody else experienced this?

I got the same issue and posted in community yesterday

Hi, @hiihemant

Thank you for sharing. I did search for the same problem internally, but the engineers haven’t found the root cause yet. Is your problem solved, or is it still being solved? I’m sorry that I can’t reproduce the problem here.

Best Regards,

Aniya Zhang

Hi ,  @hollyd

According to your description, you are using the line and stacked column chart visual and configure the tooltips .And you can see the tooltip in the Desktop , but in Service ,  the tooltip disappears from the line (but still shows on the columns).

I test it in my side , this is the screenshot in Power BI Desktop:

And this is the screenshot in Power BI Service:

I can't reproduce your problem here, and I also searched internally.

Indeed, a similar problem has appeared recently, but the engineer is still investigating and they have fonud the reason. If you can you can create a small test file to see if the problem is with a specific pbix or all. And you can send me the detailed steps on how to reproduce your problem, and I can test it here.

Thank you for your time and sharing, and thank you for your support and understanding of PowerBI!

Hello @v-yueyunzh-msft

I have created a new test file and reproduced the issue using some dummy test data, the first screenshot shows the tooltip working correctly in the desktop report, and failing to work when the report is published to the service.

I am using Version: 2.119.701.0 64-bit (July 2023), and am using the 'line and stacked column chart' visual with data in the x-axis, column y-axis, and line y-axis fields. All other fields (e.g. legend and tooltips fields) are left blank, and the default formatting options are used.
