This operation is not allowed, as the database '' is in a blocked state

Hi,

After utilising free trial of premium per user we have now switched to organisational licence.  I am not sure whether this issue is related or not but we are getting the below error message when running a report

This operation is not allowed, as the database '' is in a blocked state

The setup currently is using

- gateway ( required due to private link setup)

- Azure SQL database

- power bi workspace

Thanks

Kez

Hi Thanks for the responses.

We ended up totally redeploying the report which resolved this issue for us.

Hello, I've just run into the same issue after changing the workspace license from PPU to Fabric trial 😞 I switched back to PPU but all visuals in the reports that rely on the datasets (semantic models) in the workspaces that went through that license change have that error. Any help please? I tried refreshing datasets manually but that didn't fix the issue.

You can also republish the report and refresh.

To anyone wondering if the redeploy it's really necessary, the doc below shows the limitation from migrating PPU to Premium, where you can´t make any future updates in the dataset/datamart

Had the same problem here. Fixed it just by refreshing the datasets directly inside Power BI workspace.

can you access the database with a different tool (for example SSMS)?

There are no issues with the database connectivity.
