The ?language=nl-NL is not working

I have followed the following process to create a multi language report -

1. Create a column for dutch in Translation builder

2. Save and publish the report

3. Add ?language=nl-NL

but after I press enter the language part just get removed and no changes to the report? No idea what am I doing wrong but any hints and ideas are appreciated.

Hi @Y_J

I met a similar issue a few months ago, this is the approach I used to solve this issue

  • Re-do the Translation Builder steps meticulously:

    • Open Translation Builder.
    • Ensure your Dutch column (nl-NL) is present and has translations for some key elements (e.g., a measure name, a column name).
    • Save the Translation Builder file.
    • Click "Apply changes to Power BI Desktop" within Translation Builder.
    • Publish the PBIX file to the Power BI Service, overwriting the existing report.
  • Test the URL:

    • Go to the report in Power BI Service.
    • Copy the URL.
    • Paste it into a new browser tab.
    • Manually add ?language=nl-NL to the end of the URL.
    • Press Enter. Observe if the parameter persists and if the language changes.
  • Check for Other URL Parameters:

    • If your URL already has a ? for another parameter (e.g., ?filter=...), make sure you use & for the language parameter: ...&language=nl-NL
  • Try a different culture code:

    • Just to rule out a specific issue with nl-NL, try es-ES (Spanish) or fr-FR (French) if you have translations for those, or even just en-US to see if any language parameter changes anything.

Once you will perform these tests, can you keep us inform about the results ?
