The credentials provided for the PowerBI source are invalid. (Source at PowerBI.)

Hi all,

I have a problem that is driving me crazy.

We have a dataflow that processes the data every night and doesn't cause any problems.
It is used in several datasets and works fine.

BUT we have one dataset where the dataflow works great in desktop but as soon as the dataset is published and you try to refresh it online -> roughly after about 2 hours the error message comes up:
The credentials provided for the PowerBI source are invalid. (Source at PowerBI.)
Although all credentials have been entered and checked umpteen times.

And as I said, it works fine in other datasets - even in the same workspace.

Does anyone have an idea where I could look

Martin

Hi @MaRö ,

You should use the same credentials and privacy level like in Power BI Desktop and Service. You can go to the gear icon in Power BI - Setting - find your data source - Data source credentials. Check Edit credential to see if credentials are required.

Or it may be that the usernames and passwords that you used to sign into data sources aren't up to date. In Power BI, go to refresh settings for the dataset. In Manage Data Sources, select Edit credentials to update the credentials for the data source.
