Suggestion: Add a Toggle for Automatic Row Header Freezing in Matrix Visuals (Mobile/Desktop)

When I use the matrix visual, I often need to include several dimensions in the rows. But after publishing to the workspace, I noticed something: if the total column width of the matrix exceeds the visual’s width, the system automatically freezes the row header column. (That’s what Microsoft Support Engineers confirmed.) The problem is, this makes the metrics on the page totally unreadable.

This gets really frustrating on mobile. Even with just one or two rows, their width can easily exceed the screen size, and the automatic row header freezing ends up hiding the metrics entirely.

I get that this behavior might be intentional for some use cases, but if it has to stay, could we get a toggle in Power BI to turn this automatic row header freezing on or off? Letting users choose whether it activates would make a huge difference—especially for mobile, where screen space is already tight.

It would give us way more control over matrix layouts, ensuring metrics stay visible even when columns get wide.

Why: On mobile and narrow screens, frozen row headers often hide key metrics, making data unreadable.
Benefit: Gives users control over layout behavior, improves readability, and enhances mobile usability.
