Hello,
I’m part of an educational boot camp and was provided an organizational Power BI email: khanmister283@codebasics.in, for learning and portfolio purposes.
When I try to log in to Power BI Service, I receive this message:
"Your organization currently doesn't allow its users to purchase Microsoft Fabric Free. Contact your IT admin for more information."
The course provider has clarified they don’t manage Microsoft Fabric licensing and directed me to Microsoft support. I’m not trying to purchase any plan — I just need access to the free Power BI Service to publish my learning dashboards.
How can I resolve this or activate access with this email? Any workaround or guidance would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Hi @kdarab
Could you ask the people who provided you the license to make sure that they haven't assigned you a power bi free license? This could be causing the issues to ask them to remove that license from your account.
Hi @kdarab ,
Thank you for reaching out to us on Microsoft Fabric Community Forum!
The error indicates that the codebasics.in domain has self-service sign-up disabled, which restricts access to Power BI Free and Microsoft Fabric. Please check with your course provider to confirm if they manage this domain. They may either enable self-service sign-up or assign you a Power BI Free license. As suggested by the @GilbertQ , also ask if a Power BI Free license was assigned to your account, as this could cause conflicts, request its removal if so.
I hope this helps. If so, give us kudos and consider accepting it as solution.

Hi,
The error message you're seeing —
"Your organization currently doesn't allow its users to purchase Microsoft Fabric Free."
means that your organization’s IT admin (Codebasics.in domain owner) has disabled self-service sign-ups for Power BI (Fabric Free). Even though you're not purchasing anything, enabling Power BI Free/Fabric Free still requires admin permission.
To resolve this: Ask the administrator of the codebasics.in to enable free license activation, once they enable this, you'll be able to activate Power BI (Fabric Free) directly.
If I answered your question please mark my post as the solution, it helps others with the same challenge to find the answer!
