Sort By value set in Fabric Sematic Model is not being reflected in Power BI Desktop

I have a value in my date table to contains the month name follow by the year.  For each distinct value I created a custom sort order field.  I made the change in the Fabric model, but the report in desktop is not refelcting the change.  Other changes I make such as adding messures, changing data formats in the Fabric semantic model do get reflected properly when I refresh the model on desktop.

Here are a couple of images of what I am seeing.  Does anyone have a way to work around this?

Hi @DavidMc ,
Thank you @djurecicK2 for the helpful response!
As connected live to the semantic model, some model level changes like Sort by column may not reflect in Power BI Desktop. Live connections allow you to query the model but do not fully refresh or apply metadata changes such as column sorting. Please ensure the changes are saved and processed in the Fabric model, and try refreshing visuals or reconnecting to the semantic model from Get Data  -> Power BI semantic models in Desktop.
This is an expected limitation with live connections, as documented here:Connect to semantic models in Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn  When using a live connection, you can't create calculated columns or change sort by column options in Desktop.
Hope this helps.
Thank you.

Regards,
Pallavi.

Hi @djurecicK2,

I am not using import mode.  I was originally using a Direct Lake connnection.  The data source now says it is SQL Server Analysis Services.  I don't recall making a change to not use Direct Lake, but either way I am not using imported data.

Hi @DavidMc ,

Are you using import mode? If so, when you make a change to the model through the Power BI Service, you will need to download the .pbix file to see the changes in PBI desktop.
