Sharing report with co-workers in read-only mode hiding menu bars

Hi all,

First time sharing a report with others in my organisation and I need help to figure out how.

I have created a report from power bi desktop and publiched it in a new workspace. Now I want to share the report to other co-workers, however I want to do it so the don't have to open it through power bi web app. Also I want to hide the bottom menu bar showing the number of pages etc and the top menu bar showing "file", "export", "share" etc. The other co-workers should only have a read-only access and not access to my data flows. I've embedded the report to Teams, however I also want to share the report in full screen outside teams.

This there a way to do this?

Best,

You have to use from the Format tab => Send to Back / Bring to Front to be able to select the right Visualization. You can remove the bar by disabling the Visual Header option. But any it will show in Power BI desktop after publishing the report into Power BI service it won't show.

Hi @Anonymous

What you can do is share the report via an App.

When creating an App the users get read only access to the reports and cannot change it

If you want to lock it down further there are report setting options to disable the exporting of data etc.

Publish an app in Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

Hi GilbertQ,

Thanks for your replay - I've created an app, but it is still showing the top menu bar:

Is there a way to hide this?
