Sharing report problems PowerBI

Hello,

I have got a a problem regarding to sharing my Power BI report with non- Power BI users. The audience with who I would like to share it with have got the following limitations:

- They haven't got a Power BI license.

- They can't login to microsoft office 365 online (because the company hasn't got this option turnend on/or wants to make it available)

- They can't download Power BI desktop (because the company doesn't allow them to do this).

I'm a external employee (with a Power BI pro license) working for this company at the moment. My own company has given acces to this external company by letting their domain into our office 365 environment. Unfortunatly the audience for the company i'm working for has got many limitations and i don't see a way to share my reports with them.

Also my company doesn't allow me to have the option 'publish to web' (for public, not secured).

Can anybody think of a way to share my reports?

Hi @Anonymous

1. I'd suggest you purchase the premium license, and then embed the report into a premium workspace as App, and share it with external users/group.

2. You can also refer to this official document using AAD B2B: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/whitepaper-azure-b2b-power-bi

Azure AD administrator can resent a specific invitation link for external users to redeem:

1. Ad hoc per item sharing:The process is considered ad-hoc since business users in Company perform the invite action as needed for their business purposes. Each item shared is a single link the external user can access to view the content.

2. Panned per item sharing:

  1. The process stars with an IT administrator inviting the guest user either manually or through the API provided by Azure Active Directory
  2. The user accepts the invite to the organization.
  3. Once the user has accepted the invitation, a user in Power BI can share a report or dashboard with the external user, or a security group they are in. Just like with regular sharing in Power BI the external user receives an email with the link to the item.
  4. When the external user accesses the link, their authentication in their directory is passed to Company's Azure AD and used to gain access to the Power BI content.

@Anonymous Sounds like your only option would be to embed your reports in an externally facing application. The easiest route would be to purchase the A1 embedded license and grant access to the site to your client.
