Sharing report in a dashboard to newbies

PowerBI reports and dashboards requires the user to sign into power bi. Would free sign up option be enough for this or do they need to have subscription?  Just wondering of the recipient is totally new to PowerBI.  Thanks.

@SachinC @KHorseman You can also publish your reports to web and share across users without the need to sign up for Power BI. Find more details here. Hopre this helps

Excellent. From a security perspective; can the link be restricted to certain users if iframe was inserted onto a public facing website?  Thanks.

The purpose of publish to web is to share content with people outside your organization and licensing structure, so by definition it is not restricted by user. It is published to anyone who knows where to find it; user accounts don't enter into it at all.

The reports can be published to a website within an <iframe> tag.  If the iframe URL is leaked then a 3rd party (public) can easily view reports at their will.  Is there anyway, technically, this can be stopped?  There must be a way....  THanks.

Currently none that I am aware of. It is just a URL. Again, the purpose is to make your content available to the public, so if you don't want it to be available to the public this is not the appropriate method of sharing content. If you wish to have security, you will need to share reports and dashboards within your organization. New users can temporarily use the 90 day free trial for pro content.

New users can sign up for a 90 day free trial of a Pro license. If you share a dashboard that contains pro content they will automatically be prompted to start a free trial. It's pretty straightforward; all of my users did this on their own during early deployment while I was convincing them to use Power BI, and I just waited and gave them real licenses as necessary.
