Sharing Reports in Teams Channel

We are setting up several Teams groups based on our regional area of work. Each Team has multiple channels that represent individual projects within each region. Each region or Area may have as many as 40 - 50 projects   The structure is basically like this:

Area A

     Project 9001

     Project 9002

     Project 9003

Area B

     Project 9101

     Project 9102

What I would like to do is add a Power BI report tab within each Project channel that is specific to that Project #. I currently can filter or slice down to the Area and Project level and I can also add an individual add a Project specific tab to the Power BI report.

The big question, can I share or use RLS to share only a tab or project specific information within a Power BI report within a Teams channel or do I need to create an individual report for each project and share that only to the Teams channel? (I am aware that in the latter case I would be using the same semantic model.)

Any other ideas or approaches would be appreciated.

Hi @efstel ,

RLS can be used to restrict data access based on user roles or attributes.
However, RLS is typically applied at the dataset level, not at the report tab level.
If you need to restrict access to specific projects within the same report, you might need to create separate datasets with RLS rules for each project.
While this approach ensures data security, it may lead to maintaining multiple datasets.
