Hey guys,
I know there is a near identical thread on this forum already, however it is no solution to my problem.
My goal is to share a dashboard without the user having access to the dataset.
When I share my dashboard with a pro user, by default it shares the dashboard and dataset. When revoking permission for the dataset, the user can still see the dashboard but all tiles are blank, stating that there is no permission for displaying the tile.
Is it possible to share a dashboard without the dataset?
And if so, what am I doing wrong?

Hi @Rawbin,
When we share a dashboard with others, the recipients have no access to detailed data in dataset, neither have no edit permission. They can just view the related report via clicking the dashboard tile. Per my understanding, what you mean is to restrict user's access to source report, right? Unfortunately, this is not achievable now.

Hey guys,
thank you @v-yulgu-msft, this was the information i needed. The dashboard someone created was based on a report called 'Dataset Master' containing the whole dataset. So now I have to split up this giant report to create dashboards without sharing the dataset.
Thank you again for your great help! 🙂
@Rawbin, go to edit workspace and make that workspace as read only.
So that, even a Pro user who is a memeber of that workspace don't see the dataset, except reports and dashboard.
Thanks,
Venu Bolla
