Lately any changes that I make on my desktop report are not carrying through to the report on the service.
The model is being updated with the changes and the new measures that I'm creating, however, the new columns that I created in the matrix visuals etc are not showing up in the report.
I have a feeling that it has to do with the fact that I was asked to rename my report to something else so I changed it to the new name under the report settings.
How can I get my desktop report to 'connect' to the service version again?
Solved! Go to Solution.
@Anonymous Not all the reports are in desktop.
I created reports in the service, multiple paginated reports, subscriptions etc.. It would take many hours to recreate everything.
As it happens one of the other reports somehow got 'connected' to the pbix file so I just renamed and shared that report and deleted the 'disconnected' report.
@Anonymous I've been updating this report for over 2 years.
What I am saying is that when I republish the report the changes that I made to the visuals on the desktop are not reflected on the report.
I am trying to overwrite the original but its no longer working.
When I publish to a different workspace I do see the updates, however, I need it to go to the same workspace as I have all my RLS set up, along with othr reports that feed off this dataset.
Hi @michaelu1 ,
You delete the reports and datasets from the RLS workspace that you originally set up, and subsequently republish them on the service.

Hi @michaelu1 ,
Generally, if you make a change on the desktop, you need to republish it to the service in order to show the changes.
Try to publish to a different workspace or overwrite the original report so that the visualisation objects in it will be.
