Hi,
I'm facing a similar issue after uploading the pbix from SharePoint, the synchronization fails with this error message ServerError_PowerBINotAuthorizedException.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thank you!
Hello @triixah09, I found your post because I had a similar error message with my report, although my problem was slightly different.
I managed to fix it by using Windows PowerShell and the Power BI API. Have a look at my post and let me know if it helps in any way.
Regards, Olivier.
Hi @Alex_Tosta
I think it could be that it is using the Fabric Workspace.
What happens if you try this on a Power BI only App workspace?
If I publish in another workspace, whether it is fabric or not, it does not allow me to create a public URL, because for that, it's necessary that the fabric data engineering items (DW, lakehouse, dataflow, etc.) be in the same workspace as the report, right?
The exact same thing happens to me. I have a report connected to the DW. I use 'publish to web,' but I need to be constantly connected so that it doesn’t give me the error:
ServerError PowerBINotAuthorizedException.
Hi @Alex_Tosta
That would not work, because one of the limitations was published Web is using direct query. Publish to web from Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
Hi @GilbertQ ,
Thanks for your help and patience.
Based on the attached image of the model from PBI Desktop, I am not using Direct Query, but rather Import Mode. After publishing the report, Power BI allows me to generate the public URL as usual, and the URL remains available, but only when I am logged in. For better understanding, I am using the trial fabric licensing in my workspace. Maybe this has some influence, but I'm not sure.
Hi Alex, I have the exact same problem : I tried importing tables from another Power BI report into an existing one that I share with customers through a public URL, but right after the publication from PBI Desktop to Service I started getting the same error message every time I or someone alse tries to use the public URL; the "Service version" accessible to internal colleagues works fine.
I think that importing tables from another semantic model is considered pretty much like Direct Query, and so it is not usable through a public URL.
So in order to remove this error I tried to:
but the error is still showing to anyone using the public URL! Same thing on any other public report using data from the same semantic model.
Adding imported tables seems to have "corrupted" the semantic model even after removal. But I don't want to publish a new "import-free" report with a brand new semantic model because I would have to re-route >400 customers reports to this new model.
Any idea or suggestion would be greatly appreciated!
Hi @GilbertQ ,
The link is working when I am log in into power BI, however, it shows up when I am not.
Thanks.
Thanks,
Trisha
Hi @triixah09
Then it appears that you are using Secure Embed and not Publish to Web?
