Hello Everyone,
I created a report in power bi desktop and published in a separate workspace in the power bi service. My data is coming from on-premise sql server and shapoint. My sales data is coming from sql server and my budget & forcast data coming from sharepoint. I have set up gateway successfully and also set up scheduled refresh successfully. The sales data from sql server and budget & forecast data from sharepoint gets refreshed successfully every week. The data is there, the schedule refresh pulling it perfectly and it is correct to the penny.
The problem is when I view the report, my budget and forecast column shows correct numbers. However, the sales column shows totally incorrect numbers. I used the option "Explore Data" from the ribbon the check if the data is missing or not. The data is there and correct. I also validated that by doing a simple query in the sql server. I used the tiny refresh button on the right corner to refresh my visuals in the report but it does not work. I'm using matrix visual to show sales vs budget vs forecast by product category.
What am I misssing? Or what am I not doing right?
To update the report, I have to reshresh from my desktop, then publish it in the workspace which then updates the report. I need to automate the whole process. Theoretically, if the semantic model gets updated then the report should get updated automatically.
I would really appreciate expert advice please. Cross posting in two forums. If that's against the rules, please let me know. I'll remove from one of the forums.

I am having exactly the same issue @syed_s . In my case, I am only using a sharepoint list and the semantic model seems totally fine, but for some reason is not reflected within the visual. This is really odd.
Currently having the same issue with a sharepoint file!
I was hoping this would get fix with the new update. But it's not. Still having the same issue. I even created a new workspace after the May update but no luck yet.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one. It's such a weird bug. I automated a relatively big sales report. Everything is working except the visual part. Now I'm like a month behind to deploy the whole automated report project. Every week I have to manually refresh the report from pbi desktop application, publish it to the dignated workspace and then manually update the app. I don't know when it'll get fixed. Community support said they'll update here if they hear anything. So I'm hoping for the best.
Hi all,
Have submitted this issue internal to confirm, would update here as soon as possible if there is any update about it.

Hi,
I have the same problem that whenn new visuals added to the report in bi Desktop they won't show up after publishing. The dataset is updated.
I nailed it down to the Autorefresh settings on the symantic model.
If activated the visuals republishing doesn't work.
If you disable the auto Refesh for the symantic model and republish from Bi Desktop it will Work..!;)
It sounds like you've successfully set up scheduled refresh for your Power BI report, but you're encountering issues with the sales data not updating correctly in the published report. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
Check Gateway Status: Ensure that the on-premise data gateway is running and connected successfully to your SQL Server data source. You can check the gateway status in the Power BI service under the "Manage gateways" section.
Review Data Refresh Logs: Check the data refresh logs in the Power BI service to see if there are any errors or warnings related to the data refresh process for the sales data. This can help identify any issues with the refresh operation.
Verify Data Source Connection: Double-check the connection settings for the sales data source in the Power BI service to ensure that it's pointing to the correct database and credentials are up-to-date. You can do this in the dataset settings under "Data sources".
Check Data Model Relationships: Review the relationships between the tables in your data model to ensure that they are correctly configured. Incorrect relationships can lead to inaccurate results in your reports.
Test Refresh Manually: Try manually triggering a data refresh for the dataset in the Power BI service to see if the sales data updates correctly. You can do this by selecting the dataset and clicking on "Refresh now".
Check Report Filters: Ensure that there are no filters applied to the report visuals or slicers that may be inadvertently excluding or filtering out the sales data.
Consider Using DirectQuery: If your sales data is large or frequently changing, consider using DirectQuery mode instead of importing the data into Power BI. This allows the report to query the data source directly, ensuring that it always reflects the latest data.

The issue I'm having is not with the report entirely. It's the visuals. Specifically Matrix Visual. All the troubleshoot you mentioned, I already did it. At least 6 of them. The gateway working fine, no issues with refresh, data is pulling correctly, data source connection is all good, model relatuionships are correctly configued, manual test refresh works to pull the data but not showing the correct number on the visuals, filters are not applied during refresh. Instead of DirectQuery I do use import from a view that I created in the database from which I pull the sales data. But the data is not that big. With the view I only pull current year and previous year's data. I can change the process but I don't see the issue with the data pulling. The refresh work. Just the visual doesn't seem to update properly.
Thanks,
Syed
Hi Joe,
I see data but it is incorrect data. So from the report, on the ribbon there is an option to explore data. Which I used to check if there actual data is there or not. I saw that, the data is there, the refresh worked and pulled latest data correctly.
I do have a separate date table which has one to many relationships with my sales data table, my budget data table and my forecast data table. Yes, I used date table for my visuals.
It's the visual, that's not updating with the correct numbers. But in the backend the the correct data is there. Just to let you know, I'm using Matrix Visual to show sales vs budget vs forecast.
Thanks,
Syed
Hi @syed_s
So you see data, but it is incorrect? Or do you not see data at all for Sales?
Thanks
Joe
