Schedule Refresh of Excel files to be used as data source from user's desktop

Dear Everyone,

 

I'm working on Power BI dashboard for one of my client where excel file will be on user's desktop, is there any way I can set schedule refresh so that dashbaord gets updated automatically based on data updated at users system excel file or i need to upload that file to sharepoint and use that as data source ?

You can schedule an automatic refresh with a Data Gateway if it's what you are looking for
