Save a Copy of an existing report between worskpaces

Hi there!

I am trying to Save a Copy of an existing report/dashboard to copy it to another workspace. I have the Admin role, a pro account, and the workspace is created under the new experience, however, I have the "Save a Copy" option greyed out, I have also created a test workspace from scratch, updated the dataset there and I am still unable to select that option. Does anyone have an insight into what could be the problem here? I have already read the Power BI guides and read some messages here, but I have not found any answers to this problem.

Thanks!

You may only have "Read" access for that report. If you have access to the workspace that host that report, go there and open the report and try saving a copy again. If this doesnt work, it means you may have the role "Viewer" that doesnt allow you to edit any of the reports in the workspace.

Hi Tutu, thank you, I have "Admin (Owner)" role. If I open the report I am able to Save a Copy, but that option does not allow me to choose the workspace I want to copy it to, as I need to copy the dashboard to a specific workspace.

If the target workspace is not in the destination list, it means that you dont have access to the destination workspace. Check if you can actually access the destination workspace and have a role that is not "viewer".

I have Admin roles in all workspaces that I use, double-checked. The problem is that I do not even have the option to choose the destination if I open the report and try to copy it there.

If I try in the workspace (without opening the report) the option is greyed out.

Is it just 1 report, or all of them?

it is happening in all of them

Oh sorry to hear that.

Quick checklist:
1 - you are admin for all the workspaces

2 - you have pro license

3 - workspaces are all new experience (not classic or teams workspace)

If you check all of them, I'd suggest that you send a support ticket. This behaviour is not normal.

Okay, yes, that was what I was thinking. Thanks a lot for your time, I will send a ticket and get back here with the resolution.

That'd be great! Thanks
