Row level security

I need some help:

1. I created the roles in the destop and tested them under " view as roles" and everything works.

2. I published to the Service and went to "security" under "Data Sets" and added names to each role

3. I Also tested the roles in the service and everything works.

4. When a specfic person logs in after I assigned them to a specific role, they unfortantely still see everything instead of the specific region.

This is frustrating and I do not know what to do, can you please help?

Hi there

Are those same users members in the App Workspace?

If a user is currently part of an App Workspace they will see all the data.

So I would suggest removing them from the App Workspace, and then create an App and Share the App with the user.

There are a few steps you need to go through with RLS. It is best to use and puplish an app.

Select ..., then edit workspace

    • Members can only view (RLS applys)
    • Members can edit (RLS does not apply)

Go to Dataset, then ..., then security. Confirm or Add the user to the Row-Level Security

Update app, then Access and add user … publish

If a user is a part of an App Workspace, it does not matter how the data is shared to them they will see all the data.

Once you remove the user from the App Workspace they will then have the RLS applied.
