Retaining data already on Power BI - but data source is getting decommisioned

I get data from multiple data soruces.

Say i have some data coming from a data source which is going to be decomissioned.

Is there a way that I retain the data I have already imported and not include that data set into refresh ?

Basically say I imported a table X from data source Y.

Now Y is decommisioned.

I want to remove X dataset from my refresh.

But i still want to keep the X and do analysis and visualizations on it.

Hi maniagarwalla,

I would recommend you to divide your report into two part, one part is content those can be refreshed, another part is content those can' t be refreshed. This will result in two dataset, then publish them to power bi service.

@Anonymous Power BI won't keep this for you, your next refresh will fail without the data source. You should look to capture the relevant information in some other file, then change your connection to that source in the report.
