We have a large amount of reports that are the background for metrics scorecards. After the metrics were created they kept up to date for a while, but then the reports behind them started being suspended due to inactivity. That would not have happened if they were tied to a dashboard, but for some reason metrics don't work the same. There are a LOT of reports behind these metrics and it is not helpful to have to go and manually open each one just to get them to start refreshing their data sets again. I tried to create a Power Automate flow to refresh them, but they are Direct Query reports and that apparently means you cannot use that method to update the data sets.
How can we set up an automated refresh of a large set of reports that are only used by metrics scorecards? I haven't found an API or any built-in means that allows me to test for a suspended data set and make it refresh. I also cannot refresh on a schedule via Power Automate because it doesn't allow this to be done for Direct Query data sets. This should not be so difficult as I've found it.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Polly, and thanks for the response. The thread you suggested might eventually become the solution; however, for now it is not a solution as the last post in that thread states this:
This issue has been submitted internally. Please be patient to wait for fixing. If there is any news, I will update it here.

Additional Question:
Would adding a page refresh to every report keep the report data sets from getting suspended from inactivity?
