Report on webservice 'Line and Clustered Column Charts' show stale data

My 'Line and Clustered Column Charts' are not correctly changing based on the slicer or filter selections made.  If I download the report, everything works correctly on Power BI Desktop, but not when I try to edit the report on the webservice.  They worked correctly historically, but not now.  Multiple users within my organization are experiencing this issue.  The issue is only known on one report.

If I take the 'Line and Clustered Column Chart' and change it into a table, the table updates correctly, so it doesn't appear to be bad DAX logic, or improper joins.

I think it is a bug on the Power BI webservice.

I appreciate the help and your time.

Hi @PowerBI_Scott

@GilbertQ  GOOD ANSWER!

Perhaps you could also try the following to troubleshoot the problem:

  • Clear your browser to see if the problem still exists.
  • Re-publishing the report from desktop
  • Try another browser

Thanks for the suggestion Gilbert.

In terms of a filter being applied somewhere, why would it work on the desktop, but not work when published?

I created a chart for one of my metrics, and it is responding to the slicers on the same page better than the orginal, however it is much more basic than the existing charts, so it will take several weeks to rebuild all the charts and include all of the complex logic.  My concern is once it is fully rebuilt, that the problem could come back.

This may be the direction I have to go, but based on my schedule, if this is the solution, it will take several weeks to fully test out this solution.

It still seems like a bug if it worked historically, and on my Power BI Desktop, but just not on the published version.

Hi @PowerBI_Scott

What happens if you had to create a new blank page and see if the Line and Clustered Column chart works there?

If that works fine I have found in the past that there could be some filter still being applied somewhere. If that is the case then re-create the page.
